Mortal Kombat 11 is a fighting video game developed by NetherRealm Studios and was published by Warner Bros on 23 April 2019. The game is based on Interactive Entertainment. This is the eleventh part of the Mortal Kombat franchise and a sequel to Mortal Kombat X which was released in 2015. The game runs on Unreal Engine 3. An expansion for the game was released on May 26, 2020, Titled Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath. This expansion included an additional story mode with three new characters and new stages. The return of stage fatalities and the friendship finishing move were also included in the expansion. The Enhanced version of the game which has all downloadable content up to that point was titled Mortal Kombat 11: Ultimate and was released on November 17, 2020. Mortal Kombat 12, is about to be released in the year 2023.

Mortal Kombat 11 has 25 playable characters at the time it was launched. Out of which 23 Characters are unlocked at the beginning and are available for players readily. A Character named Frost can be unlocked in Chapter 4 of the Story mode. The chapter lets you play as Scorpion or Sub-Zero, Always pick Sub-Zero to unlock Frost at the end of Chapter 4.
One Character called Shao Kahn is a Pre-Order Bonus character. Buying the DLCs or the Ultimate Edition expands this count to a total of 37 characters. Adding all the characters makes a total of 37 Characters available in the game. The Ultimate Edition includes all 3 expansions mentioned and all 37 available characters. It is also sold as an upgrade to existing accounts. The Ultimate Pack includes all the characters from Mortal Kombat Pack 1, and Mortal Kombat Pack 2. However, players still need to complete Chapter 4 of the Story Mode as Sub-Zero to unlock Frost.

Mortal Kombat 11 is a 2.5D fighting game similar to the other parts of its sequel. New features such as Fatal Blows and Krushing Blows were introduced. Fatal Blows are special moves. Fatal Blows deal a large amount of damage, but they only become available when a player's health drops below 30% and can be performed only once per match. Krushing Blows are cinematic variations of a given special move, triggered only when certain requirements are met. Flawless Block a new mechanic is also introduced, which allows for a comeback window after blocking an attack with precisive timing. Another return is the finisher move named Mercy, last seen on Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, where the winning player can be able to revive their opponent after defeating them as a show of mercy that causes the opponent to gain a small amount of life. Mortal Kombat 11 introduced a Custom Variation feature which offers a character customization system according to the player's thoughts. Each character has a set of skins, gears, and moves, which can be further customized to the player’s choice. The characters' appearance does not determine their abilities in the game. Players can create custom moves that are not restricted to the character's appearance.
