Modern Warfare 3 Plot
Following the last game's events, Soap and Price are taken to a safe place in Himachal Pradesh by Nikolai, but Makarov's forces attack them. Price asks Nikolai for help, and he brings in Yuri, a former Spetsnaz operator, to assist. Yuri hates Makarov as much as Price does.
Meanwhile, a Delta Force squad called "Metal" helps defend New York City, destroying a radio jammer and using a submarine to defeat the Russian Navy. This success forces Russia to withdraw its forces from the East Coast.
Three months later, Russian President Vorshevsky crashes during peace talks in Europe. Makarov seizes the opportunity, capturing Vorshevsky and demanding nuclear launch codes. He also sends chemical bombs to NATO cities. Despite Task Force 141's efforts, a bomb goes off in London, and Russia, now under Makarov's control, invades Europe.
Team Metal saves the US Vice President in Hamburg, but NATO struggles against the invasion. Task Force 141 discovers that Waraabe, a Somali warlord, is linked to the chemical weapons. They capture him and learn that Volk, a CEO associated with Makarov, built the bombs. Volk reveals Makarov's Prague meeting.
In Prague, Makarov traps the team, killing a Russian loyalist named Kamarov. In the fight, Soap dies, revealing Makarov's connection to Yuri. Price, angry and grieving, learns Yuri's past. Yuri, disillusioned with Makarov, attempted to stop a massacre but was wounded. Price reluctantly continues working with Yuri.
With intel from Makarov's castle, Team Metal learns Makarov plans to kidnap President Vorshevsky's daughter. Though Metal sacrifices themselves, the President is saved, Makarov is exposed, and war ends.
Three months later in 2017, Price and Yuri find Makarov in Dubai. After a fierce struggle, Price defeats Makarov with Yuri's sacrifice, ending the threat. As first responders arrive, Price celebrates his victory.
