Endnight Games developed and Newsnight published the survival horror video game Sons of the Forest, which serves as a follow-up to the 2014 game The Forest. The game was launched via early access for Microsoft Windows on February 23, 2023, through Steam. Despite being announced in December 2019 with an initial release date of May 2022, the game was delayed twice. According to Endnight Games, the first delay was necessary to "deliver our vision of the next step in survival games", pushing the release to October 2022. However, the game was delayed again in August 2022, and the final release date was set for February 23, 2023. It was later announced that Sons of the Forest would be launched in early access to avoid any further postponements.

• Breaking the Firewood in half and adding it to the Reinforced Fire not only makes it more durable, but also keeps the Fire burning for a long time and provides warmth when the weather gets cold.
• You can also use the Reinforced Fire to cook food using the raw meat you've collected from animals and fish.
• Lastly, the Fire can also be used to scare away potential threats that may be afraid of the flames.

• In Sons of the Forest, to gather Firewood, you need to locate a tree and equip an Axe, such as the Tactical Axe.
• Interact with the tree to chop it down, and it will transform into Wooden Logs on the ground.

• Find a tree and equip your axe. If you're in the early stages of the game, you'll likely have the Tactical Axe from your Emergency Pack.
• Interact with the tree to chop it down. The tree will transform into a line of logs.
• Aim at each log with your axe until a red line appears, dividing it in half.
• Segment those halves into smaller sections using the same red line method.
• Once you have enough wood, pile it near your campfire. Your guidebook will show you how to stack the pile, but it appears you just need to create a straight line of wood and then pile the new log segments on top of it.

Keep in mind that firewood isn't just for keeping warm - you can also use it for cooking food, crafting items, and building structures.

How To Get A Fire In Sons Of The Forest? 

"Luckily, beginners can quickly learn how to make a fire in Sons of the Forest with just two items:

• Stick - You can easily find sticks on the ground, or chop down small trees with an ax if nothing is nearby.
• Lighter - A lighter is crucial for survival, and you'll receive it in the emergency pack at the start of the game. Keep it with you as it will come in handy many times, such as when dealing with mutants and savages.

Once you have the materials, follow these steps to create a fire:

• Press "I" to open your inventory and equip the stick by left-clicking on it.
• Look at the ground and left-click again to break the stick into several pieces. We recommend breaking a few more sticks into the fire, but you can also do this after lighting it.
• Once the campfire is ready, equip the lighter and hold the "E" key near the pile of sticks to light it on fire.
• Congratulations, you've created your first campfire in Sons of the Forest. Don't forget to add firewood to keep warm, boil water, and cook meat as much as you need."
