God Of War Ragnorak

God of War Ragnarök, developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, is an action-adventure game that was globally released on November 9, 2022, for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. It is the ninth installment in the God of War series, the ninth chronologically, and a sequel to the 2018 title, God of War. The game is set in ancient Scandinavia, loosely based on Norse mythology, and follows the series protagonist, Kratos, and his teenage son, Atreus, as they confront the foretold eschatological event of Ragnarök.

Similar to the 2018 game, God of War Ragnarök has combo-based combat, puzzle-solving, and role-playing elements. The game's combat has been revamped from the previous title, and Kratos has access to a magical battle axe, double-chained blades, a magical spear, and a more versatile shield with different offensive and defensive capabilities. Atreus and other characters provide assistance in combat and can be passively controlled. Additionally, for the first time in the series, there are story missions where the player takes full control of Atreus, who utilizes his magical bow as his weapon. The game features more enemy types and mini-bosses than the previous title.

Originally slated for a 2021 release, the game's launch was delayed partly due to the health problems of Kratos actor Christopher Judge in August 2019 and later due to the COVID-19 pandemic's impact on development.

How To Use Relic In God Of War Ragnarok?

Players of God of War Ragnarok can enhance Kratos' combat abilities by collecting and equipping relics found throughout the nine realms. While some may find the process confusing, relics are typically obtained by defeating bosses or looting the environment during quests.

While some relics require specific items to be crafted at the Huldra Brothers' Workshop, not all do. To equip a relic, players need to open the main menu, navigate to Weapons, and select the Relics sub-menu. All discovered relics will be listed, but only one can be equipped at a time.

To use a relic in combat, players must press and hold L1 + Circle, which provides Kratos with a short-term advantage. However, using a relic triggers a cooldown period, during which its effects will be inactive.

Best Relic In God Of War Ragnarok

When it comes to choosing the best relic in God of War Ragnarok, the Hilt of Skofnung certainly stands out. Although it's difficult to determine which item is truly the “best” in any given scenario, the Hilt of Skofnung has numerous benefits that make it a valuable asset in combat.

First and foremost, it allows players to unleash burst damage at a moment’s notice. By launching all of the swords from fallen berserker bosses within the realms at enemies, the swords act like Ingrid and attack on their own for a short duration. Not only does this inflict damage, but it also serves as a crowd control mechanism, preventing enemies from focusing on the player. Additionally, using the Hilt of Skofnung can stun enemies for a brief moment.

Although the Hilt of Skofnung doesn't offer any passive buffs, it functions like an ultimate ability, making it a formidable relic. To obtain the Hilt of Skofnung, players must defeat all of the Berserker Gravestone bosses in God of War Ragnarok and then face the false king in a final battle similar to the one against the Valkyrie Queen. Once obtained, players can take advantage of the spectral swords from the berserker souls to maximize their combat potential.
