How to Use Rewind in Persona 3 Reload?

Open Main Menu

  • While in-game, open the main menu at any time.

Navigate to "System"

  • Within the main menu, locate and select the "System" option at the bottom.

Choose "Rewind"

  • In the System menu, find and select the second to last option called "Rewind."

Explore Calendar Options

  • Once "Rewind" is selected, a calendar will appear, allowing you to go back multiple days.

Select Desired Day and Time

  • Within the calendar, identify the day and time slot you want to rewind to. There are often two slots on a single day.

Confirm Selection

  • After choosing the specific day and time, confirm your selection. This action will immediately load the player back to that chosen time.

Save Progress (Optional)

  • Before using the Rewind feature, consider saving your progress to keep your original choices. Without a proper save file, using Rewind erases all progress made since the chosen time.

Revisit Actions

  • Keep in mind that using Rewind takes you back to the start of the chosen free time. Any actions made before the use of that free time will need to be redone.

Why need to Use Rewind

In Persona 3 Reload, you usually have freedom to decide how to spend your time. However, sometimes the game limits certain events based on your social link ranks. The Rewind feature can be helpful in going back to ensure you have the right social links at the necessary rank.

For example, during summer break, which starts in late July, school-related social links are cut off until school resumes in September. In this month, there are opportunities to hang out with school friends at special events like the Summer Festival. Decisions you make during this time can affect what events you get to see, and using Rewind can help you make choices that lead to the outcomes you want.

Persona 3

Persona 3 Reload is a video game where you play a character who goes back to their hometown ten years after their parents passed away. It's a remake of Persona 3 from 2006 and is part of the larger Megami Tensei series. You can play it on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, and it was released on February 2, 2024.

Just like in the original game, the main character is a high school student with the ability to summon a Persona, a manifestation of their inner spirit. They join a group called the Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad (S.E.E.S.) along with other Persona users. Together, their job is to defeat Shadows and solve the mystery of the Dark Hour.

Fans had been asking for a remake of Persona 3, especially after the success of Persona 5 in 2016, and Atlus officially acknowledged these requests. Reload's development started in 2019, and it was first reported in April 2023 before being officially announced in June 2023.

The game faithfully retells the story of the original Persona 3 but with updated graphics and features to match the later games in the series. Shigenori Soejima supervised the new art direction by Tomohiro Kumagai and character designs by Azusa Shimada. Atsushi Kitajoh created new music and rearranged the original compositions, featuring new vocal tracks by Azumi Takahashi and Lotus Juice.

Persona 3 Gameplay

Persona 3 is a game that mixes role-playing and simulation elements. In the game, you play as a high-school student dealing with daily life, going to school, and building relationships. But, during a mysterious time called the Dark Hour, you also fight evil beings called Shadows. Your days are split into daytime and evening. Besides scripted events, you choose how to spend your time each day, affecting your character's attributes: Academics, Charm, and Courage. In the evening, you can visit Tartarus, the main dungeon, to build your party's experience and items. On full moon days, there are boss battles to advance the story.

The game's main feature is Personas, creatures linked to Tarot cards. Each Persona has strengths, weaknesses, and different abilities. While other characters have their own Persona, the protagonist can use multiple Personas in battles. You can create new Personas by fusing existing ones. Social links are new to the series, representing bonds formed with characters, each related to a Tarot card. Spending time with them increases social link ranks, giving bonuses when creating Personas of that Tarot card. Negative actions can break or reverse social links.

Tartarus is the main dungeon, visited in the evening. Players explore, split up party members, and battle Shadows. Boss floors and story progression impact progress. Spending too much time in Tartarus can make characters Tired or Sick, affecting performance. Battles start when you touch a Shadow, using a turn-based system with physical and elemental attacks. Exploiting weaknesses lets characters knock down enemies, gaining extra turns. Winning battles earns experience points, leveling up Personas for better stats and abilities.
