In The Shadow Of The Mountain Hogwarts Legacy Guide

The Hogwarts Legacy's forty-second main quest is titled In the Shadow of the Mountain.

Requirement: having finished Level 24 of Professor Howin's Assignment (Bombarda).

Reward: 260 XP

Quest Info: More Ranrok's Loyalists could be seen gathering towards a different tunnel, according to Sebastian. We made the decision to push beyond them and discover what they were after. Further runes similar to those on the triptych note were found throughout our search. Before discovering the last part of the triptych and a different entrance leading back to the Undercroft, we had to fight off a troll and a horrible spider infestation. When we went back, we added the last canvas to the triptych, which activated a Pensieve memory. As we watched, we discovered that magic from antiquity has the capacity to cure. Sebastian thinks we can heal Anne with this power.

In The Shadow Of The Mountain Hogwarts Legacy

Starting Location: In the Shadow of the Mountain

Bombarda, the Explosive Charm, which we now know how to use, should let us scale the mountain and get to the southern parts. We need to meet Sebastian there.

Meet Sebastian Along the Coast

You must pass through a mine to get to the southern districts. There is only one way there: through a mine. You cannot fly or walk there. To locate the entrance, refer to the screenshots below. Whenever you return outdoors, you'll be able to fly once more. When you are able, head over to the task marker and speak with Sebastian.

Travel Up the Switchbacks

To turn on your Charmed Compass, press up. This will make a golden wisp trail visible that you can use to go where you're going. Prepare for an enemy encounter once you arrive.

Defeat All the Enemies

Now clear the area.

Continue Up the Mountain

Press:up: once more to expose the way once you've looted the place. A chest is hidden behind some Devil's Snare on the slope you sprinted up, just before the destination sign.

Defeat the Guards

Now clear the area again.

Enter the Caverns

Loot the area, making careful to light the Tower Tunnel floo flame here, and then proceed to the quest marker to access the caverns.

Search for Runes

Kill the spiders as you descend the tunnels. Continue down the slope after looting the area, checking the space behind a Bombarda wall for a chest. Defeat additional spiders in the following region, take the loot and move on. Burn the spider web after climbing the stairs, then use Bombarda to blow out the wall. Go down the spider egg tube after that.

Defeat All of the Enemies

Now kill some more spiders in the arena.

Unlock the Rune Door

Loot the area right away, including the spider nest from whence the two Matriarchs sprung. Cast Confringo at the spider web covering the rune switch to the door's right while facing it. Then strike the two people by the door and the person behind you.

Search for the Triptych Segment

You can locate Isidora's Journal Entry 4/7 in an open chest in front of you after passing through the door. If you keep going, though, you'll have to battle a mountain troll.

Defeat the Troll

Now defeat the troll and spiders.

Search for the Triptych Segment

  • Restart looking for the segment now. Take whatever you can, even the tiny room hidden behind the wooden barrier. Light the bowl next to the statue inside to reveal a little chest. Reparo can now be used on the disorganized stairs in the main chamber.
  • Isidora's Journal Entry 5/7 can be found in the next chamber, which can be looted. After that, position the crate adjacent to the damaged wall so that you can climb it.
  • Go back down and ascend the steps on the left after climbing the stairs on the right and plundering the floor. There is only one route to travel and you cannot get lost, so move on to the following several quest marks. Isidora's Journal Entry 6/7 is located on a table inside the new space.
  • Bombarda should then be used on the wall once you've looted the chamber, including lighting the bowl by the statue to uncover a chest. Take the chest from the alcove on the right and proceed after climbing the slope and jumping over the gap.

Unlock the Rune Door

  • There are three rune switches in the subsequent chamber, the third of which is concealed behind a Bombarda wall right close to the door. Strike all three, then walk through the door.

Investigate the Chamber

The final chapter of Isidora's Journal 7/7 will be on a table within the new space. Now ascend the stairs, turn around to the left, and instantly ascend the ledge to locate some loot, then take the last triptych piece from the table.
