The gameplay of Injustice 2

Injustice 2 is a fighting game that features one-on-one combat between characters from the DC Universe and other third-party franchises. Players must utilize different combinations of directional inputs and button presses to perform basic attacks, special moves, and combos to deal damage and defeat their opponent. The game retains various gameplay mechanics from its predecessor, including environment interaction, stage transitions, clashes, and character traits. The trait system allows players to receive temporary buffs or abilities that complement each character's playstyle. Additionally, the super meter, which allows for executing enhanced special moves and unlocking powerful "super moves" when fully charged, makes a comeback. Players can now expend meters to perform new techniques, such as an evasive forward roll, to overcome enemy keep-away tactics or an air recovery, which allows characters to escape an opponent's combo early. Although most environmental attacks can now be blocked or dodged, certain environmental attacks with long start-up times, like throwing a car, remain unblockable.
