To prevent such attempts in the future, the National Lottery made changes in 1992, transforming the Irish Lotto into a 6/39 game. This increased the odds of winning the jackpot, making it harder for brute force attacks.
The changes included doubling the starting jackpot, adding a bonus number to the drawings, and introducing new prizes for specific matches. Over the years, the game has evolved, adapting to challenges and competition, but it remains a popular and exciting chance for people in Ireland to try their luck and win prizes while contributing to good causes.
