Bola Ajibola was a prominent Nigerian jurist and member of the Owu royal family. Born on March 22, 1934, in Owu, near Abeokuta, colonial Nigeria, Ajibola attended both Owu Baptist Day School and Baptist Boys' High School in Abeokuta before studying law at the Holborn College of Law, University of London. He obtained his LL.B. degree in 1962 and was called to the English Bar at the Lincoln's Inn the same year. Ajibola returned to Nigeria to practice law, specializing in commercial law and international arbitration.  He served as Attorney General and Minister of Justice of Nigeria, was a Judge of the International Court of Justice, and president of the Nigerian Bar Association. Ajibola also chaired the panel to probe the 2008 Jos riots, established Crescent University, and served as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of MUSWEN. He was also the High Commissioner of Nigeria to the United Kingdom.

He served as the president of the Nigerian Bar Association from 1984 to 1985 and later became Nigeria's Attorney General and Minister of Justice from 1985 to 1991. He also served as a Judge of the International Court of Justice from 1991 to 1994 and was the High Commissioner of Nigeria to the United Kingdom from 1999 to 2002. Additionally, he was one of five commissioners on the Eritrea-Ethiopia Boundary Commission and was appointed as the chairman of the panel to investigate the 2008 Jos riots. One of his notable achievements was establishing the Crescent University, an Islamic and co-educational institution, in Nigeria in 2005. Born on March 22, 1934, in Owu near Abeokuta, he was a prince of the Owu royal family of Oba Abdul-Salam Ajibola Gbadela II. He obtained his bachelor's degree in Law from the Holborn College of Law, University of London in 1962 and was called to the English Bar at the Lincoln's Inn that same year. Despite his education in England, he returned to Nigeria to practice law.
