The Wrap reports that Netflix might lose popular shows such as Breaking Bad, Community, New Girl, 30 Rock, NCIS, and How to Get Away With Murder in the next few years.
These shows' licenses with Netflix are set to expire before 2024 ends, and while Netflix can keep streaming them by paying a higher fee, it remains uncertain if they will do so, given the growing competition among streaming services.
The community will soon stream exclusively on Peacock, along with some other popular NBC sitcoms like The Office and Friends. Netflix could potentially retain the rights to shows like Breaking Bad and its prequel Better Call Saul, but the cost of doing so would be high.
