Several scenes in the series drew inspiration from the real-life case of Cyanide Mohan. In conclusion, Mohan was accused of murdering approximately 20 women, and surprisingly, the Prime Video series depicted a similar figure. By the end of Season 1 of "Dahaad," Anand was found guilty of killing around 29 women.
What was even more surprising was that many scenes in the series seemed to be influenced by the real-life case of Cyanide Mohan, although there was no explicit mention of it. It is unclear whether this lack of acknowledgement was intentional or not, but it would have been appropriate to give credit to the showrunners for their work.
Regarding Mohan's case, there is no evidence of a significant traumatic incident that shaped his life. According to the Indian Express article, Mohan's father abandoned him when he was just 14 years old.
It is possible that the absence of a father figure in his life had a psychological impact on him. However, in both Anand's and Mohan's cases, the exact cause that led to their psychopathic tendencies cannot be pinpointed. Personally, I believe that if the creators had attempted to provide some background for their antagonist instead of blindly drawing inspiration from a true story, they might have provided an answer for us.

Dahaad Plot
In a rural village in Rajasthan, Sub-Inspector Anjali Bhaati (played by Sonakshi Sinha) encounters a strange case where twenty-seven (27) women have gone missing without any explanation. Despite this, the local community seems unconcerned about the situation. However, Bhaati discovers a common link between all the cases, causing her to suspect that a serial killer may be behind the disappearances. This discovery alters her investigation, shifting her focus from inexplicable vanishing acts to a meticulously planned and calculated scheme.
