David Jason Muir is an American journalist who currently anchors ABC World News Tonight and co-anchors 20/20. He joined ABC News in 2003 and has received multiple Emmy and Edward R. Murrow awards for his exceptional journalism. Muir's news reporting received the most airtime in 2012 and 2013, and World News Tonight with David Muir became the most-watched evening newscast in the United States.

Muir, hailing from Syracuse, New York, was raised in a Catholic family. Muir has reported on significant global events, such as Hurricane Katrina, the Israeli war with Hezbollah, the Hamas coup, earthquakes in Peru, the Chernobyl nuclear accident aftermath, and the BP oil spill. He has also covered the Haiti earthquake, and political revolutions in Egypt, and conducted notable interviews during the 2012 U.S. Presidential election, including with Mitt Romney.
