DeMarco Morgan is currently not married and it appears that he is single. In late February 2023, while covering Melissa Dawn and Julio Lopez's wedding on the GMA3 show, presenter Rocsi Diaz asked Morgan if he would be the one to catch the bouquet.

In 2001, Morgan earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Jackson State University in Mississippi. He later pursued his Master's degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, graduating in 2002.
While studying at Columbia, Morgan played an active role in establishing the student chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) and also completed internships at CBS Evening News and 48 Hours. During his time at Columbia, he was honored with the titles of Fred Friendly Scholar, Dupont Scholar, and CBS Scholar.
