Jeffrey Roy Holland (born December 3, 1940) is an American religious leader and educator, best known for his role as the ninth President of Brigham Young University (BYU) and as a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). In the LDS Church, Holland is recognized as a prophet, seer, and revelator as a member of the Quorum of the Twelve. He is currently the fourth most senior apostle in the church.

He then transferred to BYU, earning a bachelor's degree in English, followed by a master's degree in Religious Education at the same institution. In 1974, he became BYU's Dean of Religious Education and was later appointed as the eleventh commissioner of the Church Educational System (CES) in 1976, replacing Neal A. Maxwell. In 1980, Holland became the ninth president of BYU, succeeding Dallin H. Oaks.

After concluding his term as president of Brigham Young University, Jeffrey R. Holland was called as a general authority and member of the First Quorum of the Seventy on April 1, 1989. During his time as a member of the Seventy, Holland served as a counselor in the general presidency of the church's Young Men organization from 1989 to 1990. Before his call as a general authority, Holland held various church callings, including serving as bishop of a single adult ward in Seattle, a counselor in the presidency of the Hartford Connecticut Stake, and a regional representative. Additionally, he served in the presidency of two other stakes and as a stake high councilor.
From 1990 to 1993, Holland lived in Solihull, England, where he served as president of the church's Europe North Area. On June 23, 1994, Holland was chosen and ordained as an apostle by then-Church President Howard W. Hunter, filling the vacancy left by the death of Ezra Taft Benson and the subsequent reorganization of the First Presidency. Holland's call to the apostleship was unusual in that it occurred outside of a general conference, and he even met with the media on the day of his ordination. In 2000, Holland became the chair of the Missionary Curriculum Task Force, which worked to develop the Preach My Gospel curriculum.
