Fauda is an Israeli TV show that draws on the experiences of its creators, Lior Raz and Avi Issacharoff, who served in the Israel Defense Forces. The show follows the story of Doron, a leader in the Mista'arvim unit, and his team as they pursue "The Panther," a notorious Hamas terrorist, during the first season. The show was filmed in Kafr Qasim during the 2014 Israel–Gaza conflict and first aired on February 15, 2015. The second season premiered on December 31, 2017, while the third season takes place in the Gaza Strip and was released in 2019 and 2020. Fauda can be streamed internationally on Netflix, and a fourth season was released in early 2023.
Is Fauda based on a true story?
Although the characters and plot of "Fauda" are mostly fictional, the show is inspired by the elite Israeli army unit "Duvdevan," which translates to "Cherry" in Hebrew and is known for its top-level service in the Israeli Defense Forces. While joining the military is mandatory for both men and women in Israel, joining "Duvdevan" is voluntary. Even the show's creators, Lior Raz and Avi Issacharoff draw inspiration from their own personal experiences serving in the Israeli army. Raz, in particular, is a graduate of the "Duvdevan" unit. The show gets its name from the Arabic word "Fauda," meaning chaos, which was used by Arab demonstrators during the first intifada in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Israeli soldiers later adopted the term to signify discovery and danger. Raz, who lost his girlfriend to terrorism, dedicated one episode of the series to her and specifically addressed the issue of terrorism.
Fauda Ending Explained
Doron and his team successfully rescue Gabi from Hezbollah with the help of Omar, but as they prepare to leave, Gabi shoots Omar in revenge for what he was put through and what he revealed. Adel and his group plan to attack with the missiles they've gathered, but they lose a cache when the IDF raids one of their hideouts, and Adel is forced to escape. Despite this setback, they still have some missiles left and decide to use them, killing several Israelis. Gabi suggests using Omar's funeral to lure Adel out by pretending to be a Hamas member. Adel poses a significant threat not only because of his unwavering commitment to his cause and willingness to sacrifice his own people but also because he knows what Gabi revealed under torture, which could have disastrous consequences. In the final battle in Jenin, Eli, Sagi, and Steve are shot by a sniper, and Russo and Doron are injured. Doron ultimately kills Adel, but as the season ends, we see him lying on the ground, holding the hands of his comrades. In the upcoming fifth season, it's uncertain whether all three of them will survive, but Eli, who plans to leave the military soon, may face the greatest danger. "Fauda" has a reputation for delivering heart-wrenching endings for its characters, and Eli's death would reinforce the notion that there is little escape from the life of these soldiers.

How to Watch Fauda?
Fauda's fourth season, which will comprise 12 episodes, is available for viewing to Netflix subscribers from January 20, 2023, as part of the streaming service's plans. The season's storyline will focus on Doron (played by Lior Raz), who is wracked with guilt over the death of a team member and is left feeling angry and frustrated after being discharged from the unit. Captain Ayub (played by Itzik Cohen) endeavors to help Doron out of his troubled state and enlists him for a simple security task in Brussels.
