Is Flight 666 Based on a True Story?

It is unclear to find the movie Flight 666 is based on a true story or not. "Flight 666" is a 2018 horror film directed by Rob Pallatina. The story follows a group of passengers and crew members on a commercial flight who are attacked by unseen forces while in the air. As the situation becomes increasingly dire, the passengers must fight for their lives and come to the realization that the plane may be haunted by malevolent spirits. The film stars Liz Fenning, Jose Rosete, and Joseph Michael Harris, and it features tense suspense, shocking scares, and a chilling atmosphere throughout.

On a red-eye flight from coast to coast, Pan US 57 encounters a storm that leads to a series of unfortunate events. Peck, one of the passengers, is restrained by sky marshal Thaddeus after claiming to see ghostly figures on the wing. Other strange occurrences include maggot-infested meals, power failures, and ghostly sightings. As panic ensues, Thaddeus and air hostess Alice suspect that the flight is haunted.

In "Flight 666," tensions run high as the passengers and crew experience increasingly terrifying events on their flight. As they try to uncover the cause of the disturbances, they realize that the plane may have a dark history that's caught up with them. The film offers a fresh take on the popular haunted house trope, with the setting of a confined airplane adding to the suspense and dread. It also explores themes of guilt and redemption, as the characters confront their past mistakes while fighting for their lives. With strong performances and effective use of practical effects, "Flight 666" is a must-watch for horror fans looking for a frightful and unique experience.

Flight 666 Review

The movie FLIGHT 666 commences with a sequence of murders. A murderer is targeting young women and we witness a summary of these incidents during the opening credits. The camera gradually moves away from the final crime scene, into the sky and onto an airplane flying through a turbulent storm. The situation worsens when one of the passengers spots what appears to be apparitions on the wing. Suddenly, the plane experiences an engine failure, causing it to plummet down, only to start up again just as abruptly.

The revelation that there is a plot about murdered girls and a killer aboard the plane is not disclosed until the end of the movie. Typically, I would avoid revealing spoilers in a review, but as the synopsis of the film already mentions this, it is hardly a surprise when the revelation occurs. Furthermore, it is also unsurprising to discover the identity of the murderer who is being pursued by the ghosts.

Putting aside the ridiculous premise, Flight 666 challenges the suspension of disbelief of horror fans. The behavior of the airplane seems almost like a parody, and the cabin and pilot crew are extremely incompetent. In one scene, the plane goes into a nose-dive for several minutes, but the pilots miraculously manage to save it with only a drop of blood from a passenger's nose as the sole injury. This scene only serves to set up the next unimpressive attempt at a scare.

The acting in Flight 666 ranges from bad to downright terrible, and the characters are almost entirely pointless. They do not react in a realistic manner, and their attempts at character development are painfully shallow. Some of the dialogue feels awkward and forced, like a conversation between a couple about whether they have ever seen a ghost.

FLIGHT 666 lacks internal consistency and disregards basic safety procedures. The ghosts' desire for revenge on their killer puts the lives of innocent passengers in danger, and the repeated steep descents should have triggered the deployment of oxygen masks, but they never appear. The film's only redeeming feature is its well-designed and creepy-looking ghosts, as there are no genuine scares, and the level of violence is only suitable for a PG audience.
