Mixed by Erry Plot

Enrico, Peppe, and Angelo Frattasio are three brothers from Naples, Italy. They live in modest conditions in 1976, and their father Pasquale makes a living by smuggling tea and passing it off as whisky. Enrico has a passion for music and would like to be a DJ, but his lack of good looks and shy nature prevent him from even trying. Instead, he consoles himself by mixing compilations for friends and clients using the recorders at the appliance store where he works.

When the appliance store closes, Enrico decides to make his compilations a real business. He opens a small shop where he creates personalized cassette tapes for the people in the neighborhood. Later, he and Peppe take out a loan from a local boss to buy high-tech audio recorders that allow them to copy many cassettes in a short time. Thanks to Angelo's connections in the criminal underworld, they are able to expand their business quickly. They soon set up numerous laboratories in which they mix thousands of audio cassettes, which they then sell throughout Italy on the black market.

Their business is a success, and the Frattasios become very rich and famous. Their brand, "Mixed By Erry," is even pirated. This attracts the attention of a Camorra boss, who would like to go into business with them. However, the boss is involved in one of the Camorra wars of the 1980s, and he is unable to focus on the Frattasios.

Meanwhile, Captain Ricciardi of the Guardia di Finanza (Italian financial police) discovers the trafficking of the three brothers during his fight against the counterfeiting of audio cassettes. He decides to break up their business, but the Frattasios are one step ahead of him. They make their company official and at the same time create satellite companies through which to launder the proceeds of their business.

Arturo Barambani, the CEO of a manufacturer of audio supports, is impressed by the Frattasios' business. He checks their orders and notes the impressive data relating to the orders placed by the brothers. He manages to stipulate a billion-dollar contract with them for the supply of blank cassettes. A singular friendship is established between the four men.

Ricciardi's investigations are at a standstill, and Enrico sidetracks them by being followed to the 1991 Sanremo Festival, where Ricciardi hopes to locate the mole that allows the company to market the Festival compilations long before they hit the shops. Mixed By Erry meanwhile becomes the first record label in Italy for revenues. The reaction of the record companies, who would like to eliminate the fraudulent competition, alarms Barambani. He asks the three brothers to close their business and live off their income. Faced with their refusal, Barambani betrays the Frattasios and helps Ricciardi set up the prosecution system that will lead to their arrest and the confiscation of their assets.

The Frattasios are sentenced to five years in prison. While in prison, Enrico receives a tip that their money has been buried in a secret place. He and his brothers plan to dig it up and start their business again when they are released. However, they receive the news that the lira will soon be replaced by the euro, which makes their plan more difficult. Upon leaving prison, the three brothers find more menial jobs and abandon the company Mixed by Erry.
