However, Vince eventually tells the truth, revealing that Bobby was the last person seen with her and admitting that Bobby had said, "if he can't have her, no one's gonna." Because of his honesty, Vince is freed from custody since he was not sure if Bobby had killed Stacy. Detective Anderson becomes convinced that Bobby murdered Stacy when she broke up with him and refused to reconcile.
