No One Would Tell Review

The message that No One Would Tell conveys is crucial and should not be disregarded. Candace Cameron's portrayal of a 16-year-old in an abusive relationship is compelling, while Fred Savage's depiction of a troubled school heartthrob is equally convincing. Michelle Phillips, who plays Cameron's mother, also delivers a strong performance as a character who has a history of being in abusive relationships. At one point, when Savage's character is mistreating her daughter, Phillips' character tries to reason with her to end the relationship. However, Cameron's character replies that at least he loves her, which her mother never did.

The film highlights the mind games and denial that are prevalent in abusive relationships, which can be subtle or psychological but are always degrading. It is a valuable film for young women, as low self-esteem is common and can take time to overcome. Denying the abuse or pretending it does not exist only exacerbates the problem, and victims often become isolated from their friends. The unexpected twist at the end of the movie is significant and should be taken to heart, as this is a true and tragic story.
