On the morning of May 18th, Paul Cauthen was arrested in Isle of Palms, South Carolina, on various drug-related charges. He was charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, as well as manufacturing and possession of controlled substances with the intent to distribute in Schedule I, II, or III.
Initially, Cauthen's publicist claimed that the charges were related to marijuana. However, it was later revealed that he was also charged with illegal possession of prescription drugs, namely Xanax and Diazepam. During the bust, heroin and cocaine were found on Cauthen's tour bus, although he was not charged specifically for these drugs.
According to the police report, an officer noticed Cauthen's silver tour bus illegally parked near Ocean Blvd and Pavilion Dr. The officer detected the odor of marijuana while passing the bus, prompting an investigation. Cauthen and two other individuals were present outside the bus at the time.
During questioning, Cauthen admitted to having approximately 1 ounce of marijuana in a suitcase on the bus. Additional officers arrived, and the occupants of the bus were instructed to exit.
Cauthen voluntarily handed over a bag containing marijuana. Subsequently, a search of the bus's common area was conducted based on probable cause. The search yielded multiple sealed bags of marijuana, a handbag containing a white powdery substance, various pills, and drug paraphernalia.
Cauthen confessed to possessing Xanax and Diazepam without a prescription, and he claimed ownership of all the marijuana on the bus. However, no one on the bus took responsibility for the white powdery substances found.

Country singer Paul Cauthen has decided to cancel two of his upcoming concerts following his recent arrest on drug charges in South Carolina. The cancellation came as a surprise to fans, with Friday night's performance in Knoxville and Saturday's show in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee being affected.
