Ronnie Nyakale started his acting career in 1999 with a short film called "Portrait of a Young Man Drowning." In the same year, he made a mark on the SABC1 television drama series "Yizo Yizo," where he portrayed the character "gangster Papa Action" and even won the Best Supporting Actor Award at the NTVA Avanti Awards.
After this success, he joined the e.tv soap opera "Rhythm City" and played the role of a gangster named "Ding Dong." In 2006, he appeared in the series "A Place Called Home" in the critically acclaimed role of "Sylvester," earning a nomination for the Best Actor Award in the TV Drama category at the 2010 South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTA).
In the same year, he acted in the Hollywood blockbuster movie "Blood Diamond." Ronnie also joined the television mini-series "Fallen" in 2007, winning the Best Supporting Actor Award in the TV Drama category at the 2012 SAFTA for his performance.
In 2008, he played the role of "Zakes Mbolelo" in the film "Gangster's Paradise: Jerusalema." In 2011, he took on the lead role of "AJ" in the film "Machine Gun," which received critical acclaim. He also had a supporting role as "Captain Stone" in the film "Avenged," previously known as "iNumber Number."
