Despite the somber ending, the show creators gave a nod to co-creator John Singleton's hit film Boyz In The Hood by featuring a movie production scene in the final episode. However, the story has to end in tragedy, and the last season is going to feel a little heavier. The last two seasons were more lighthearted, but the final season is going to be much darker in tone.
