Stargate Atlantis Plot
Stargate Atlantis is a TV series that follows the adventures of Major John Sheppard and his team from Earth as they explore distant planets in the Pegasus Galaxy. They use a device called a Stargate, built millions of years ago by an advanced human race known as the Ancients. The team is based in the Lost City of Atlantis on the planet "Lantea," which was abandoned by the Ancients 10,000 years ago.
The Ancients had to flee to the Pegasus Galaxy millions of years ago due to a plague in the Milky Way Galaxy. They seeded life on many worlds, similar to Earth. In Atlantis, the team encounters a powerful enemy called the Wraith and fights a war against them for a hundred years. Ultimately, the Ancients lose and submerge their city beneath Lantea's ocean, which is the source of the Greek myth of the Lost City of Atlantis in the Stargate universe.
Episodes of Stargate Atlantis have individual stories while contributing to the larger storyline of the war against the Wraith and the search for ways to defeat them. Each season includes two-part episodes and episodes with direct connections to previous stories.
