The game kicks off with the player's character waking on a doomed Republic ship, devoid of memories. After escaping to Taris, the character, along with companions, unravels their past, aiming to thwart Malak's plans by finding Star Maps leading to the Star Forge, a powerful ancient space station.
The character's choices sway them towards the light or dark side of the Force, influencing their fate. Depending on alignment, they confront the Star Forge to defeat the Sith (light side) or seize control from Malak (dark side). A light-aligned character is hailed as a hero, while a dark-aligned one becomes the new Sith Lord.
The Sith Lords unfolds five years later, with the Jedi nearly wiped out. The player, a former Jedi Exile, seeks redemption and battles Sith with newfound allies.
