Born on November 11, 1986, Victor Michael Cruz is a retired American football wide receiver who played for the New York Giants. He was undrafted in 2010 and had previously played college football at UMass. Cruz's father, who was African American, was a firefighter while his Puerto Rican mother is named Blanca Cruz. Sadly, Cruz's father committed suicide in 2007. Cruz attended Paterson Catholic High School and played both wide receiver and defensive back. He was part of the 2003 team that went undefeated at 11-0 and won the New Jersey Parochial Group I championship, earning All-State honors as a senior. After completing a post-graduate semester at Bridgton Academy, he went on to play college football at UMass.
