Is Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon Based On A Book?
Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon is not based on a book but is an original creation by the director. Unlike many movies that come from books, this space adventure is solely Snyder's imaginative work, not tied to any existing literary story. Inspired by Star Wars, Rebel Moon initially began as an R-rated Star Wars proposal to Lucasfilm, although it didn't get approved.
Instead, Netflix became the platform for Snyder's cosmic vision to take flight. The movie is divided into two parts: Rebel Moon: A Child of Fire and its sequel, Rebel Moon: The Scargiver, both filmed simultaneously, offering a complete storyline while hinting at the possibility of more sequels and spin-offs.
While Rebel Moon draws thematic inspiration from Star Wars, it's a separate universe. Although it has glowing swords reminiscent of lightsabers, it doesn't feature Jedi or traditional Star Wars elements.
Despite not originating from a book, Rebel Moon aims to expand its universe through various media, including books, graphic novels, VR experiences, and video games.
