About JAMB
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is a Nigerian organization that conducts entrance exams for students seeking admission into tertiary-level institutions. It was established in 1978 and oversees the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), a crucial test for admission to Nigerian universities, polytechnics, monotechnics, and colleges of education.
The UTME, held annually, assesses candidates' knowledge, speed, and accuracy in 180 questions within a 2-hour timeframe. JAMB determines the cut-off marks for various institutions after each exam. The current registrar is Prof Ishaq Oloyede. JAMB also approves Computer Based Test (CBT) centers for exam registration. Despite concerns about candidates' access to computers and the internet, various unofficial practice platforms exist to help students prepare for the UTME.
Join us at Fresherslive to explore current news and trends presented in a clear and concise manner. Our goal is to keep you informed without any confusion, making your journey of staying updated a smooth one.
JAMB CBT Centres
JAMB CBT (Computer Based Test) Centres are designated locations in Nigeria approved by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for the registration and conduct of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). These centers are spread across the 36 states in Nigeria, including the Federal Capital Territory. CBT centers play a crucial role in the examination process, offering a computer-based platform for candidates to take the UTME.
Students register for the exam at these approved centers, which are equipped with the necessary technology for a smooth and standardized testing experience. JAMB ensures that these centers meet specified standards to maintain the integrity of the examination. Choosing a reputable CBT center is an essential step for candidates as it directly impacts their UTME registration and test-taking process.
JAMB Practice Platforms
JAMB Practice Platforms are unofficial online resources that offer practice materials and past questions to help candidates prepare for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). While JAMB itself has not officially endorsed any specific certified CBT (Computer Based Test) practice platform, these unofficial platforms have emerged in response to the growing need for effective exam preparation.
Given the digital nature of the UTME, these platforms provide a simulated testing environment where candidates can familiarize themselves with the exam format and practice answering questions. As Nigeria faces challenges with widespread access to computers and the internet, these platforms aim to bridge the gap, offering valuable resources to enhance candidates' performance in the actual test.
Candidates often use these platforms to boost their knowledge, speed, and accuracy in preparation for the JAMB examination.
