During Friday's game, Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto sustained a sprained right pinky finger. The injury occurred in the fifth inning when he hit a double, breaking Rockies starter Austin Gomber's perfect game bid.
As Realmuto rounded second base, he noticed that no one was covering third base. However, first baseman C.J. Cron quickly retrieved the ball and threw it to third baseman Ryan McMahon, who tagged Realmuto's hand, causing the injury.
