In Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 17, titled "Thunderclap, Part 2," Megumi informs Shigemo that no Ten Shadows sorcerer has successfully exorcised the strongest Shikigami, Mahoraga. Megumi attempts an exorcism ritual involving Shigemo, but it fails, rendering the ritual ineffective.
A flashback reveals Satoru telling Megumi about a past clash between a Gojo family head with Six Eyes and Limitless and a Zen'in family head with the Ten Shadows, both resulting in their deaths. Satoru suggests that Megumi's eventual strength could lead to defeating Gojo, but only through the use of Mahoraga.
In the present, after Mahoraga is summoned, it kills Megumi, who enters a suspended death state. Sensing Megumi's danger, Sukuna intervenes and saves him by exorcising Mahoraga. Sukuna recognizes Mahoraga's adaptive power and counters it with a Domain that stops just before Megumi, leading to Mahoraga's defeat.
This event, known as the Shibuya Incident, concludes with Megumi being transported to Shoko. Sukuna returns control to Yuji, who is horrified by the unfolding events. In a post-credit scene, Kento Nanami is seen wandering aimlessly, with half of his body burned.
