Why was Justaminx Banned?

On February 26, during a live stream, JustAMinx became noticeably intoxicated, drinking whiskey straight from the bottle and slurring her speech throughout the stream. At one point, she accidentally dropped the whiskey bottle and even fell out of her chair while trying to retrieve it. The clip of this incident quickly went viral on platforms like Reddit and social media, potentially drawing Twitch's attention and leading to her subsequent ban.

On March 1, just a few days after the controversial stream, JustAMinx received an email from Twitch notifying her of a suspension from the platform. The ban, lasting for seven days, also came with a 90-day probationary period. During this probation, the popular streamer is prohibited from participating in promotional activities and using the self-service emote tool. However, she does have the option to appeal the ban.

The reason behind the ban is a violation of Twitch's community guidelines regarding self-harm and/or incapacitation during a stream. While Twitch permits moderate alcohol use and the usage of marijuana as long as it complies with local laws, JustAMinx's excessive drinking exceeded what Twitch considers safe.

This is the streamer's third ban on the platform, with her first suspension occurring just over a year ago when she was banned for seven days due to using a derogatory slur during a stream.

Although Twitch's policy enforcement has sparked controversy, leading to the emergence of competing platforms like YouTube Gaming and Kick, it is unlikely that JustAMinx will switch platforms following her third ban. It is anticipated that she will resume streaming on Twitch once the ban period has ended.
