Body camera footage released by the LAPD in January showed the 31-year-old suspect fleeing from officers through traffic. Following a chase that ended in a struggle between Anderson and the police, he was tased multiple times, at least six according to reports.

On June 2, the LA County autopsy report revealed that Anderson's death may have been the result of an enlarged heart and cocaine use. The manner of death is still under determination, as stated by the LA County coroner's office on Friday. The autopsy on Anderson was completed on January 11, and the cause of death was officially certified on Thursday, June 1. It is worth noting that Anderson was the cousin of Patrisse Cullors, one of the co-founders of the Black Lives Matter movement.
