L.A. Noire Reefer Madness Walkthrough

A source has provided information about a drug distribution ring in LA. To gather more details, visit Freddie Calhoun at the back of Mike Lyman’s bar. He will provide information about Juan Garcia Cruz and his base of operations. During a cutscene, Juan will open fire on you, but you can obtain an achievement by sneaking around the back and killing his men from behind. Once inside the Las Palmas stash house, examine the body in front of you to find Gunman’s Silver Dollar clue. Then, find the notepad on the boxes behind you to obtain the Masangkay clue.

In the kitchen, there are cardboard boxes from Parnell’s Soup Company. Call the telephone to get an address, and find a newspaper in the bedroom with an ad for Parnell’s that gives you the address for 20th Century Market. Go out to the shed and investigate the soup cans to open a secret area. Use the can opener to obtain the Soup Cans clue and an achievement.

To progress in the game, you need to find the ledger in the desk next to you and search for a pattern in the deliveries since Juan is dead. Click on any line that has E.J’s name on it, and you’ll get the clue Tijuana Dope Shipments.

If you want to get all the achievements in one playthrough of this DLC, you need to sacrifice your five-star rating. For the next achievement, go straight to the 20th Century Market from the Cruz’s, and ignore the Parnell’s Soup Company for now.

At the 20th Century Market, you will find the clue "Shopkeeper’s Silver Dollar" which will trigger a cutscene. After the cutscene, you'll get the achievement "High Flyer". You can find a flyer at Juan Garcia Cruz's house and proceed straight to the 20th Century Market. This achievement can only be obtained in offline game mode and by a single player. It's a collectible achievement that requires exploring the game environment to find a set of unique objects.

After the cutscene, you'll find yourself in a chase. If you are quick enough, you can tackle the perpetrator in a parking lot. Otherwise, follow him up the ladder and win the ensuing brawl. Once you catch the perpetrator, Cole convinces him to give up any drugs on him, and you get the clue "Shopkeeper’s Silver Dollar". After that, you'll have an interview with Airto Sanchez, where you need to choose "Lie" for the topic "Knowledge of E.J" and "Doubt" for the topic "Parnell’s Soup Shipments". There is a third question if you went to Parnell’s first, but it's not relevant to this playthrough.

After the interview, a cutscene plays, and you end up at Parnell’s Soup Factory. You need to raid the factory and choose a different gun out of the car if you want. Head into the factory, kill the bad guys, and be careful for civilians. Once you finish the raid, you'll get the clues "Gunman’s Silver Dollar", "Boxed Marijuana Shipment", and "Jorge’s Silver Dollar".

Next, find the body in the room in front of you and examine him to get the "Gunman’s Silver Dollar". Identify him as Juarez (this may change the name of the clue). Then, find Earle, who is stood by a box. Examine the box to find the clue "Boxed Marijuana Shipment". After that, find your way upstairs to another body. This is Jorge, and he too has a clue, "Jorge’s Silver Dollar". After that, there is another cutscene.

Pinker has laid out all of the collected dollars on the table, and the puzzle is to find the connection. Remember Masangkay? Line the coins up so they read "Masangkay Metals", which gives you the clue "Collected Silver Dollars", and the achievement "Spare A Dime". This achievement requires playing in game modes that do not necessitate a connection to any online services and can be obtained by a single player.

Masangkay Metals is a location that is securely fenced, with a locked gate and barbed wire over most parts of the fence. However, there is a section on the left-hand side that has no wire and can be climbed over.

To carry out a raid at Masangkay Metals, one should head toward the back of the warehouse. It is important to eliminate any enemies encountered while making your way through the warehouse to the front. Once at the front, locate the stairs and ascend them while engaging in combat with any hostile forces encountered.

On the next level, navigate through the rooms until you reach another flight of stairs. Ascend the stairs to reach the top floor where you will find Victor Sanchez. A cutscene will be triggered at this point, and upon its conclusion, you will receive your case-ending achievement.

L.A. Reefer Madness Guide

Here is a guide for the "Reefer Madness" case in L.A. Noire. The case takes place after the Black Caesar and is located on Disk 2. At the beginning of the case, the commander at the station tells you to go see Freddie Calhoun, who has evidence on a reefer trail. You visit Freddie at a bar and obtain information on a man named Juan Garcia, along with his address. Phelps tells Freddie to leave town with the money Roy gives him, and you drive to the residence. Upon arrival, a gun battle ensues. RedKiller666 suggests going to the left when the battle starts and then into the backyard. Force the back door open and attack them from behind to receive the "Forcible Rear Entry" achievement/trophy. You find a note on top of a box near Garcia's body that says MASANGKAY. Near the body, you find boxes with the 20th Century Market logo on them. Investigate the second set of cans in the shed to open a secret entrance, and look through the cans to find the Marijuana and the SOUP CANS clue. You can earn the "Soup in the Pot" achievement/trophy by opening the second can on the table. Point your finger on the Tijuana deliveries and find out about the TIJUANA DOPE SHIPMENTS.

Next, head to Parnell's Soup Company Factory*. Howard Parnell, the owner, gives you a tour of the factory and introduces you to Sergio Rojas, who is in charge of can shipping. After the tour, you interview Sergio and find that many deliveries go to the 20th Century Market. You then interview Airto Sanchez at the market, and he gives you his identification as well as information on Juan and Jorge Cruz. At the meeting time at Parnell's Soup Company Factory, the truck of drugs enters the factory, and you signal backup. After the gun battle, you investigate the body of Ernesto and find his information and SILVER COIN. When you leave the room, you find the BOXED MARIJUANA SHIPMENT, and a police officer leads you to Jorge Garcia's body, which holds the roll of money that Earle takes as compensation for giving money to Freddie Calhoun. You find JORGE'S SILVER COIN in his pocket. Pinker then checks out all the coins you have found and tells you to decipher a message that is found on the coins. Place the coins in the right order to make Masangkay Metals. Lastly, drive over to Masangkay Metals, fight off the men in the building, make your way to the top, and confront Victor Sanders. In the end, you receive praise but leave an unknown fate for Victor Sanders.

To receive the "High Flyer" achievement/trophy, visit the 20th Century Market after investigating the house. However, this will cause the case to end faster, and you will miss out on a five-star rating since you will not get the full experience of the case.
