During the Boston Bruins 5-2 victory over the Washington Capitals on Tuesday, Linus Ullmark left the ice midway through the third period. The 29-year-old goaltender seemed to have injured himself while making a split save in the early minutes of the third period. However, according to coach Jim Montgomery, Ullmark's exit from the game was only a 'precautionary' measure and he is expected to be fine.
There is no word yet on when he will return to the ice. Jeremy Swayman replaced Ullmark and made two saves. Prior to his exit, Ullmark had stopped 19 shots out of 21. Ullmark has played in 48 games for the Boston Bruins in the 2022-23 season, recording a 39-6-1 record with a 1.89 goals-against average and a .938 save percentage. He is considered a top candidate for the 2023 Vezina Trophy.

Linus Ullmark is a Swedish professional ice hockey goaltender who currently plays for the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was born on July 31, 1993, in Holmsveden, Sweden. Ullmark began his professional career playing for the Swedish team MODO Hockey in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) in 2011.
He was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the sixth round of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. Ullmark made his NHL debut in 2015 for the Sabres and played with the team until 2021 when he signed a contract with the Bruins as a free agent. Ullmark has represented Sweden in several international tournaments, including the 2013 IIHF World Junior Championships and the 2018 IIHF World Championships.

The Boston Bruins signed Linus Ullmark to a contract worth $20,000,000 for a duration of four years, which includes a $3,000,000 signing bonus and $20,000,000 guaranteed.
