What Happened to Mama June Daughter Anna Cardwell?

Mama June Shannon recently provided an update on her daughter Anna "Chickadee" Cardwell, who has been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer.  In an interview with ET's Rachel Smith, Shannon revealed that Anna has undergone a second round of chemotherapy to treat adrenal carcinoma, a rare disease in which cancer cells form in the outer layer of the adrenal gland.

The diagnosis came after Anna went to the hospital with back pain last August and doctors discovered a cyst, which was later removed. Sadly, the cancer had already spread to her liver, spleen, and lungs by the time it was diagnosed in January of this year.

Anna has lost all of her hair as a result of the fast-moving cancer, and her spirits are understandably low. "Just depends on what day it is," says Shannon. "She sleeps a lot. She doesn't want to eat some days." As a mother, Shannon admits to experiencing a range of emotions as she watches her daughter go through this difficult journey.
