The Mandalorian Season 3 Episode 5 review

The latest episode of The Mandalorian takes us back to a distant galaxy in the past, as Nevarro is once again under threat by pirates. Titled "Chapter 21: The Pirate," this is the fifth episode of season 3, where the Mandalorians are called upon to offer their assistance.

Regrettably, this season has been the least impressive so far, with several episodes feeling disconnected. "Chapter 21" tries to pull together some of the loose ends from the previous four episodes, but while it's a step in the right direction, it falls short of expectations.

The episode opens with the return of the pirates from "Chapter 17," who launch an attack on Nevarro, wreaking havoc and causing people to flee. We are reintroduced to familiar characters, including Captain Carson Teva, who responds to Greef Targa's distress message, and Garazeb "Zeb" Orrelios, a character beloved by fans of the animated TV show Star Wars Rebels. Seeing Zeb's transition from animation to live-action is a delight, especially given that it's been years since his last appearance in Rebels.
