At the start of the game, Toad seeks out Mario and Luigi to inform them that Princess Peach has been deceived yet again. To find the brothers, guide Toad to the left where he can enter the bathroom and speak with Mario. As they arrive, Bowser is seen shouting at the Princess, leading the brothers to confront him in a battle. If desired, players can take the opportunity to learn about Action Commands (explained in the Basics section) before defeating Bowser.
After the skirmish, Bowser demands that the Princess's voice be recovered from the Beanbean Kingdom, as she is currently unable to speak. To begin this quest, head right into the nearby town and search for a Mushroom. Offer it to a Toad in exchange for a Super Mushroom, then climb the hedge to find another Mushroom in a block. Further south, a character can be spoken to in order to receive a 1-Up Mushroom. Return to the hedge and jump to the right to collect the Mushroom from the block. When ready, speak to Luigi and proceed to the next screen, where the first save block can be found.
