Mass Effect Andromeda Wiki
Mass Effect: Andromeda is an action-packed role-playing video game created by BioWare and published by Electronic Arts. The game was released in March 2017 on PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One as the fourth major entry in the Mass Effect series.
The game takes place in the Andromeda Galaxy during the 29th century, where humanity is planning to populate new home worlds through the Andromeda Initiative. Players take on the role of either Scott or Sara Ryder, an inexperienced military recruit who joins the Initiative and wakes up in Andromeda after a 634-year sleeper ship journey.
As the story progresses, events unfold that result in Ryder becoming humanity's Pathfinder, who is tasked with finding a new home world for humanity while also dealing with the Kett, an antagonistic alien species, and uncovering the secrets of a mysterious synthetic intelligence species known as the Remnant. BioWare incorporated a lighter tone than previous installments in the series, with an emphasis on exploration and open-world elements.
Mass Effect: Andromeda is the largest game in the series and offers the player the freedom to focus on either the main quest or side quests. The game's score, composed by John Paesano, captures the mood of space exploration and the adventure of the game. Combat in the game is less cover-based and more mobile, with many of the series' traditional gameplay elements remaining but with some modifications.
The game was developed by a new team out of Montreal, in contrast to the original Mass Effect trilogy, which was created by BioWare's Edmonton studio. The game's production cycle was troubled, with many members of its leadership team departing mid-project and numerous changes in creative vision.
BioWare constructed all systems, tools, and assets from scratch for the game, as it was built using the Frostbite 3 engine, unlike the previous entries of the series that were built using Unreal Engine 3.
Mass Effect: Andromeda received mixed reviews from critics upon its release. The game's improved combat, atmosphere, and visuals were praised, while its story, character animations, and technical issues were criticized. BioWare released several patches in response to critical feedback but decided not to release further single-player downloadable content additions.

Mass Effect Andromeda Gameplay
In Mass Effect: Andromeda, the player assumes the role of Sara or Scott Ryder, controlling their actions and decisions in the game from a third-person perspective. The appearance and names of the Ryder twins are determined by the player, while the appearance of their father, Alec, is automatically adjusted based on the appearance of the Ryder twins.
Upon completing the game, a New Game+ is unlocked, which allows the player to start a new game with certain bonuses and switch to playing as the other Ryder, if desired. Players can also choose to continue playing with their existing character and complete unfinished missions.
Unlike previous Mass Effect games, where players select a character class at the beginning of the game with unique skill sets, Mass Effect: Andromeda allows players to freely assign any skills they desire. The more experience points earned by completing missions, the more Ryder can level up, which unlocks and upgrades skills along a skill tree. Players can reallocate skill points at any time, allowing them to experiment with different play styles without starting from scratch.
Similar to previous Mass Effect games, the player can interact with characters using a radial command menu. The dialogue options available to the player depend on the direction chosen on the wheel. Four types of responses shape each conversation: emotional, logical, professional, and casual. Conversations are often based on agreeing or disagreeing with participants, and occasionally, an "Impulse Action" prompt will appear, offering the player an additional choice to what is available on the dialogue wheel.
By conversing with non-player characters, Ryder can develop friendships and romantic relationships with them over time. During both dialogue and quest sequences, players may be prompted to make moral decisions that do not have a clear good/bad distinction but are intended to be more nuanced, marking a departure from the Paragon/Renegade morality system of prior titles in the series.
Mass Effect Andromeda Puzzle
Out of the 22 puzzles in the game, there are six that do not activate any hostile Remnant forces in case of failure. These particular puzzles can be attempted again right after failure without having to defeat any enemies since there are none present.
