The show revolves around the influential McLusky family, who are power brokers in the town of Kingstown, Michigan. As the only thriving industry in the area is incarceration, the series delves into themes of systemic racism, corruption, and inequality as the family tries to bring order and justice to the town.

The lead character, Mike McLusky, is portrayed by Jeremy Renner. Starting as his older brother's right-hand man, Mike becomes the "Mayor" of the town following Mitch's death in the first episode. Despite dreaming of leaving Kingstown, Mike spent his childhood in the town, and later, we discover that he was once an inmate in the Kingstown prison, rising to the rank of "Shot-Caller" for the White inmates.

Dianne Wiest plays Mariam McLusky, the family matriarch. Mariam is a college professor who teaches inmates at the female prison as a volunteer. She is fully aware of her sons' activities and harbors deep animosity towards Mike.

Mayor Of Kingstown Season 2 Episode 6 Review

The latest episode of Mayor of Kingstown season 2 finally picks up the pace after the prolonged focus on the struggles inside the prison. The character of Mike has consistently been portrayed as someone who will do whatever it takes to get the job done, and this episode is no exception as he confronts the DA. Additionally, Kyle's determination to make a difference leads to some questionable decisions, but viewers will be satisfied to see him take down Davidson, who deserves some retribution after what he did to Bunny.

As usual, the episode ends with a big cliffhanger. However, the introduction of Milo's character adds an interesting twist to the storyline. It remains to be seen how the show will handle Milo's arc without getting too caught up in the prison drama. Overall, the episode is a much-needed improvement from the previous one.

Mayor Of Kingstown Season 2 Episode 6 Recap

In this episode of Mayor of Kingstown, Mike meets with Wendy at the Warwick Group office and proposes a deal: he wants her to help take down the DA since he can't get to him himself. In the prison, a member of the Aryan Brotherhood kills a Bloods member, but Big Hush and Raph manage to stop him. Davidson, the guard who is friends with Gunner, watches the struggle but only intervenes when the Bloods take control. Captain Moore assures Mike that Bunny will be out of the Kill Box by the end of the day, but Mike reminds him that he shouldn't have been there in the first place. Mike suspects that someone has cut a deal with the DA, and he directs Robert to find out who the snitch is.

Later, Kyle reveals to Mike that he stole the bonds they were after. Mike warns Kyle not to do something like that again. Mike also confronts Davidson at his home and orders him to stay away from Bunny. When Davidson pushes him, Kyle steps in and beats Davidson with a gun in his hand.

The next day, Bunny is released from the Kill Box, and he tells Mike that he has moved the target from Mike's back to someone else. Mike is concerned and interrupts Evelyn's meeting with the DA, who is unwilling to let the gang leaders go. Mike threatens to reveal that the DA knew about Milo's escape, which he does, causing the DA to be killed by a masked thug.

Meanwhile, Mariam meets a juvenile inmate who seeks Mike's help to be moved to stay away from other inmates. Carney informs Moore that one of the inmates he beat up is dead, and Carney fabricated the papers to protect themselves.
