The competition held among 11 contestants, which started at 7:00 PM in the evening, was produced by official producer Vanbros & Associates, Lenexa, Kansas.

Mimi has won the state title in her fourth attempt and will get ready to represent Nebraska at Miss USA 2023 in Reno, Nevada, this year. Mimi was the third runner-up in 2020 and the second runner-up in 2021 and 2022. Miss Nebraska USA 2023 and Miss Nebraska Teen USA 2023 were held at the same venue, and Miss Lincoln County, Aubrie Charter, won the title in Miss Nebraska Teen USA 2023.
Mimi Wood has a great interest in investing in Nebraska’s youth, which has led her to teach and coach dance. She began her own nonprofit organization where she works to provide affordable dance education and personal development activities for children belonging to underserved communities. Miss Nebraska, USA Mimi is a degree holder in education and human sciences from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. She was also a member of the Husker Scarlets Dance Team at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
