Mobile Legends: Bang Bang

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) is a popular mobile game made by a company called Moonton. It came out in 2016 and became really famous, especially in places like Southeast Asia. In the game, two teams of five players battle each other in real-time. Matches usually last around 10 minutes and start after a 10-second matchmaking process. The goal is to fight through three different paths (called lanes) to destroy the enemy's tower while protecting your own. Winning or losing in the game depends on how skilled you are, your abilities, and how you plan your strategies.

Because of its success, Moonton organized big tournaments called Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL). These tournaments decide which teams get to play in the Mobile Legends World Championships. MLBB was even part of the esports competition at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games held in the Philippines. It was one of the first games to be part of the medal event for esports.

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang GamePlay

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is a game you can play on your phone where you team up with four other players to fight against another team of five in real-time. It's free to play, and the only things you can buy in the game are characters and their different looks, called skins. In the game, each player picks a Hero to control. These heroes have special abilities and fall into six different roles: Tank, Marksman, Assassin, Fighter, Mage, and Support. These roles show what each hero is good at and what their job is during the game.

The main goal of the game is to destroy the other team's base to win. There are three lanes on the map: top, bottom, and middle. Each team has to protect their base while attacking the other team's towers in these lanes. In between the lanes, there's an area called the jungle with different monsters that give players boosts.

Players can't attack the enemy base directly without taking down their towers first. Each lane has three towers that do a lot of damage. To destroy them, players need to work with their team and their minions (small helper characters) to attack them without taking too much damage.

There are different modes of play. In "classic mode," winning or losing doesn't affect your rank. You can also play different modes like Brawl, where you're given random heroes and fight in a single lane, or Magic Chess, a strategy game based on the heroes from Mobile Legends. There are other modes too, like Mayhem where heroes are super strong, Deathbattle where you play different heroes in one match, and Mirror where your team uses the same hero based on voting. Players can also play against AI, have custom battles with friends, and practice using heroes in training mode.

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Development

Moonton, a company with 20 staff, had success with their first game, Magic Rush: Heroes, in 2015. They then made a new game called Mobile Legends, a multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game, which they released on July 14, 2016. It was distributed by Elex Tech in the United States. After a lawsuit from Riot Games in 2017, Moonton removed the game from Google Play and re-released it as Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang had some security issues due to a vulnerability called CVE-2015-8271, which also affected other apps like Facebook and Messenger. This was because they used some older code from third-party sources in their app.

In July 2019, Moonton announced Mobile Legends: Bang Bang 2.0, which included upgrades like using a newer version of the Unity game engine and promised faster loading times, reduced lag, and better graphics. In early 2020, the game faced problems with cheats and hacks, leading to some players being banned. Moonton also had to deal with accounts being hacked due to third-party scripts. They added two-factor authentication in response.

In June 2020, Moonton announced Project NEXT for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang's 5th anniversary. This involved changes to the game's interface, updates to older heroes, and improvements in gameplay. It was released in three phases from September 2020 to September 2021. The game has been very successful, reaching over 1 billion downloads and having up to 100 million players per month at its peak.
