Kendall Ryan (Selma Blair), the mother, feels emotionally disconnected from her teenage daughter, Carly Ryan (Anne Winters), who is typical in her teenage rebellion, stealing money from her parents and distancing herself from the family to hang out with her friends Riley and Damon (Robert T.
