Monster Hunter rise: Sun break Gameplay Trailer

Similar to previous Monster Hunter games, Monster Hunter Rise tasks players with assuming the role of a Hunter, whose mission is to take down or capture large monsters by using various weapons, tools, and environmental elements to weaken and damage them while surviving their attacks. Successfully completing quests results in loot in the form of various monster parts, which can be used to create new armor and weapons to take on more formidable monsters, forming the core loop of the series.

Rise brings back some of the previous games' monsters and also introduces new ones. All 14 weapon types from Monster Hunter Generations and World are present in Rise, and its maps are more focused on vertical movement. Rise features a new tool called the Wirebug, which allows players to grapple and swing across gaps and higher locations as needed. Additionally, it has different interactions with each weapon type, expanding its moves and combos. The Wirebug also enables players to engage in Wyvern Riding, where they can mount and control a monster to a limited extent.

Palamutes, new dog-like companions, help players navigate the map quickly without losing stamina, climb cliffs, and assist in combat with monsters alongside the returning cat-like Palicoes. Rise offers both single-player and local and online multiplayer modes with up to four hunters in a group. Rampage, a new tower defense mode where players must protect their base village from attacking monsters, is introduced in Rise. Sunbreak expansion introduces a new feature, the Switch Skills Swap, allowing players to switch between two different skill sets during a hunt without returning to a base camp. It also lets players befriend non-player characters in hunting hubs, who become companions for hunts.
