Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, the first-person shooter video game by Sledgehammer Games and Activision, was fully released on November 10, 2023. It marks the twentieth installment in the Call of Duty series and serves as the third chapter in the revamped Modern Warfare series.

Following the events of 2022's Modern Warfare II, the game's storyline revolves around the multinational special operations unit Task Force 141 as they pursue the Russian ultranationalist and terrorist Vladimir Makarov, who plans to instigate a third World War.

The game, available on platforms such as PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, maintains the realistic, modern setting of its predecessors. In addition to its engaging single-player campaign, Modern Warfare III introduces a multiplayer mode with remastered maps from the 2009 release, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and includes a Zombies mode, a first for the Modern Warfare series.

Sledgehammer Games initially set out to develop an expansion pack for Modern Warfare II but, as the project progressed, Activision decided to turn it into a standalone entry in the Call of Duty franchise. Leveraging the 9.0 version of the IW engine, Sledgehammer Games crafted the game's mechanics and graphics.

Notably, Treyarch, renowned for the Call of Duty: Black Ops series, collaborated in developing the Zombies mode. Following leaks in early-to-mid 2023, the game was officially unveiled in August 2023, with a showcase event and a public beta occurring in October. While some platforms categorize it as a DLC expansion of Modern Warfare II, it doesn't feature a Platinum Trophy on PlayStation 5.

MW3 Zombies How to Get Energy Mine Field Upgrade

Getting the Energy Mine Field Upgrade in MW3 Zombies is simple. All you need to do is go to the Field Upgrades menu and equip it. Luckily, you don’t have to work hard to unlock it; it’s available right from the start at Level 1. Once it’s in your arsenal, you can start using its awesome power against those zombie hordes.

You can’t just keep using it over and over again. You’ll need to charge it up after each use. The best way to do this is by taking down zombies in the game. Once it’s fully charged, unleash it on those big crowds of zombies to make them disappear in a flash. When you activate this upgrade, it sends out an electrical pulse that zaps all the enemies nearby, making it a real lifesaver when things get hairy.

Now, if you’re aiming to complete the Mineflayer mission using this upgrade, you’ll need to defeat 25 zombies and 15 Mercenaries with the Energy Mine. Find the zombies all around the map, and for the Mercenaries, try hitting strongholds after charging up your Field Upgrade with zombie takedowns. Once you get the hang of using it, finishing this mission will be a piece of cake.

Mineflayer Mission in MW3 Zombies

The Mineflayer Mission in MW3 Zombies is like a special challenge you take on in the game. To complete it, you’ve got to do two things: take out 25 Zombies and defeat 15 Mercenaries using the Energy Mine Field Upgrade. It’s kind of like a task you need to finish while playing the game.

Now, getting those 25 Zombie kills can be done by staying in the exfil area. You know, that spot where you can call for help but don’t actually leave. By hanging out there after calling for help, more and more Zombies will keep showing up, giving you plenty of chances to blast them away with the Energy Mine.

But tackling the Mercenaries is a bit trickier. You’ve got a few options like going after them in Mercenary Camps, doing specific contracts, or even getting a keycard to raid a Mercenary Stronghold. Each of these places has lots of Mercenaries for you to take down with your Energy Mine. Once you’ve zapped enough enemies, you just keep using the Energy Mine, recharging, and repeating the process until you’ve completed the mission.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Gameplay

Modern Warfare III will play a lot like its predecessor and other Call of Duty games. It brings back features like slide canceling. The campaign offers both linear missions and 'Open Combat Missions,' giving players more freedom in how they tackle objectives. In multiplayer, there will be all sixteen maps from Modern Warfare 2 at launch.

Players can vote for maps in lobbies, and there will be a bit more health for a longer time to kill. The 'red dot' minimap is back, allowing players to spot enemies on their radar when they shoot without a suppressor. Classic modes like 'Kill Confirmed' and 'Hardpoint' are returning, along with a new mode called 'Cutthroat.' Ground War and War mode are making a comeback too.

The game will also have a new open-world PvE Zombies mode. Developed by Treyarch and Sledgehammer Games, it's different from the old round-based survival style. Up to 24 players will team up on a big map called Urzikstan. They'll face off against zombies and AI-controlled enemies, completing objectives, collecting loot, and extracting items. Instead of rounds, the map is divided into 'zones' with varying difficulty levels.

After 45 minutes, an 'Aether Storm' starts, giving players 15 minutes to get out with their loot. This can be carried into the next match. It includes familiar elements like weapon purchases, special drinks, and mystery boxes. Story quests will also be part of the mode, advancing the narrative.
