However, everything will change when Koji arrives at the Saimori residence dressed in a suit, carrying a marriage proposal. Miyo suspects that he has come to ask for her hand in marriage, but she hesitates to have high hopes due to her past experiences. Eventually, she is called by her father, Kanoko, who wants to speak with her. With intense anxiety, Miyo enters Kanoko's room, preparing herself for the news she expects to hear.
To Miyo's surprise and sorrow, Koji's marriage proposal is not for her but for her stepsister, Kaya. Koji does not want this arrangement, but he is forced to follow his father's instructions for the sake of their family's prosperity. However, there is a glimmer of hope as Koji's father reveals that a marriage arrangement will also be made for Miyo, but with another man. This could be her chance to escape the abusive household.
