Scoring

In NBA 2K24, scoring in the game has gotten some exciting upgrades. Different types of players, like those who excel at slashing, post moves, shooting, or handling the ball, have new ways to shine:

  • Float Game: This makes players better at making floaters and runners near the basket.
  • Scooper: Improves the chances of successful quick scoop layup shots.
  • Bunny: Increases the chances of making hop step layups and dunks.
  • Spin Cycle: Boosts the success rate of finishing drives with spin layups or dunks.
  • Two Step: Gives a shot boost to cradle and Euro step layups and dunks.
  • Precision Dunker: Enhances the ability to pull off skillful dunks.
  • Hook Specialist: Helps players make hook shots from the post.
  • Post-Fade Phenom: Improves the success of post-fade and hop shots.
  • Open Looks: Makes it easier to hit wide-open jumpers.
  • Spot Finder: Speeds up players when they're trying to get open for a shot.
  • Whistle: Improves the chances of drawing fouls and getting to the free-throw line.
  • Free Points: Boosts free-throw shooting in clutch moments.
  • Bulldozer: Combines scoring and ball-handling, helping players power through defenders and finish strong around the rim.

Ball-Handling / Passing

In NBA 2K24, players who focus on ball-handling and passing have some exciting new badge options to choose from:

  • Relay Passer: This badge boosts the chances of shooters making a shot when they receive a pass from you, like in hockey with assists.
  • Touch Passer: If you're someone who quickly moves the ball after getting it, this badge gives you faster pass animations.
  • Big Driver: For big players who like to face up and drive to the basket from the mid-range area, this badge gives you an initial boost when you start your drive.
  • Blow-By: If you're a fast ball-handler, this badge helps you get past defenders more easily when they try to guard you closely.
  • Physical Handles: During physical encounters with defenders, this badge increases your chances of winning the outcome after performing a dribble move.
  • Speed Booster: This badge is for perimeter players who want a quick first step when they start dribbling from a standstill position.
  • Triple Strike: If you use triple threat moves and jukes often, this badge makes you better at them, increasing your success rate.

Defense

In NBA 2K24, defense is a crucial part of winning championships, and there are some new badges to help defenders:

  • Fast Feet: This badge is like a "quick first step" for defenders, helping them stay in front of agile ball-handlers by giving them a speed boost on defense.
  • Right Stick Ripper: If you like to use the right-stick steal move, this badge boosts your chances of successfully stealing the ball.
  • Immovable Enforcer: This badge is a counter to the Bulldozer badge and helps defenders win physical battles when it comes to body-ups and contact layups.
  • 94 Feet: Players with this badge experience less stamina loss when bodying up opponents and have a better chance of winning physical confrontations when pressing full court. It makes full-court pressure more effective, and opponents without this badge may struggle when trying to press full court.

Mycareer Builder And Badge Progression

In NBA 2K24, the MyCAREER builder, where you create your player, has seen significant improvements. You can start by either making your own custom player or choose from NBA player templates. These templates are customizable, or you can use them as they are and begin your career.

There are some changes to the attribute builder page. Takeovers, which used to be part of creating your player, are now available during actual gameplay. Badges have been categorized into four tiers: S, A, B, and C, with S-Tier being the best. The height of your player determines the badge tier, and each badge has specific attribute requirements to unlock it.

They've also made changes to prevent overpowered player builds and improved attribute caps for different size combinations. Maximum heights and weights have been updated based on player positions. The archetype names have been refined to better describe the type of player you're creating. These changes aim to make the MyCAREER builder in NBA 2K24 the best one yet.

Badge Level Progression

In NBA 2K24, Badge Perks are special rewards that help your badges level up. There are four slots for each badge perk, and each slot corresponds to a different badge tier. You can only apply one badge perk to a badge at a time. Here are the badge perks:

  • Overdrive: Speeds up badge level progression during games.
  • Immunity: Slows down badge level regression during games.
  • Drill Savant: Boosts badge level progression in Team Practice Facility.
  • Scholar: Offers a big increase in badge level progression for PvP games with a high Teammate Grade but provides no progression if you finish with a low grade.
  • Winner's Circle: Provides an extra boost in badge level progression for PvP games you win but offers no progression if you lose.
  • High-Risk: Increases badge level progression for PvP games with badge usage but accelerates regression if you don't use your badges.

Performance Multipliers, on the other hand, benefit all your equipped badges at once when you meet specific challenges in their respective modes:

  • Grade A Student: Speeds up badge level progression in games with a high Teammate Grade.
  • Winner Takes All: Accelerates badge level progression in games you win.
  • Up for the Challenge: Boosts badge level progression in games against tough opponents.

Floor Setters are powerful rewards earned through Season XP and come in Silver and Gold versions. They lock a badge at a specific level, preventing it from dropping below that level. If your badge hasn't reached the Floor Setter level, it will automatically progress to that level (provided you meet the attribute requirements). Floor Setters are permanent and cannot be changed, but if your player can go beyond the listed level, they won't be restricted from doing so.
