NECO Examination
The National Examination Council (NECO) is a Nigerian examination body that conducts the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) and the General Certificate in Education (GCE) Ordinary Level and Advanced Level in June/July and November/December respectively.
NECO was established by the National Examination Council Decree No. 33 of 1999, which was signed into law by the then Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar. The Council was created to take over the functions of the National Board of Education Measurement (NBEM) and to provide a more efficient and effective examination system in Nigeria.
NECO is a Federal Government agency that is headed by a Director-General. The Council has a Governing Board, which is responsible for the overall policy direction of the Council. NECO also has a number of committees, which are responsible for specific aspects of the Council's work.
NECO is committed to providing a fair and equitable examination system for all candidates. The Council strives to ensure that all candidates have the opportunity to succeed in their examinations. NECO also works to ensure that the results of its examinations are reliable and accurate.

NECO Administration
Examination planning:
The NECO administration is responsible for planning the NECO examinations, including the development of the examination timetable, the selection of examination centers, and the printing of the examination papers.

NECO Structure of the Examination

NECO 2023 Timetable-FAQs
NECO stands for National Examination Council. It is a Nigerian examination body that conducts the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) and the General Certificate in Education (GCE) Ordinary Level and Advanced Level in June/July and November/December respectively.
NCEE stands for National Common Entrance Examination. It is an examination that is taken by students who want to attend Federal Unity Colleges in Nigeria. The NCEE is a competitive exam, and only the top students are admitted to Federal Unity Colleges.
Be in their sixth year of primary school. Have a minimum of five credits in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) or the National Examination Council (NECO) Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE)
Registration for the NCEE is done online. To register, students must visit the NECO website and create an account. Once they have created an account, they can then select the exam that they want to take and pay the registration fee.
