Need For Speed Unbound
A 2022 racing video game called Need for Speed Unbound was created by Criterion Games and released by Electronic Arts for the PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S. The 25th entry of the Need for Speed series marks Criterion's first since Rivals with Ghost Games in 2013 and their first as the series' primary developer since Most Wanted in 2012. On October 6, 2022, EA released Unbound, which was created by Criterion. The artwork in the game combines realistic visuals from prior Need for Speed games with artistic aspects like graffiti and cel-shading. The map is set in Lakeshore City, a made-up city modeled after Chicago.
On December 2, 2022, the game for the PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S was made available worldwide. When the game first came out, critics gave it excellent reviews, praising the gameplay, art direction, advancement, and graphics while criticizing the characters' blandness and lack of innovation.
Need For Speed Unbound Gameplay
Racing game Need for Speed Unbound takes place in the made-up Chicago-based city of Lakeshore City. The gameplay will be similar to that of other entries in the series, with a primary concentration on street racing, and it will feature an open-world setting like prior iterations. In Unbound, the "heat system" from Need for Speed Heat is back. Instead of earning a rep, you earn money by competing in races or engaging in pursuits. In addition, the game will offer a variety of customization options, including installing different body kits, adding a splitter, or even completely deleting the front or rear bumpers. You can even make side wagers to pass specific racers, perform acrobatics through areas, and work extra jobs to supplement your income.
Need For Speed Unbound Development
Future Need for Speed game production was announced to move back to Criterion Games from Ghost Games in February 2020 after the firm was referred back to EA Gothenburg. Prior projects by Criterion Games include Hot Pursuit (2010) and Most Wanted (2012). The team was briefly reassigned to help with the production of Battlefield 2042, hence the game's intended release date of 2021 was delayed to 2022. EA revealed in May 2022 that Criterion Games and Codemasters Cheshire had been combined, expanding the game's development team.
Fans discovered that EA had unintentionally exposed the name of their new Need for Speed game early on their website a few days prior to the reveal. Fans also discovered that the game's promotional photos had been made available early on the website of the Japanese retailer Neowing. On October 6, 2022, a teaser featuring the rapper A$AP Rocky, who will have his own mode in the game and have some of his music featured alongside AWGE, and showcasing the game's "street art" art style served as the official unveiling of Unbound.
