Overwatch 2 Season 3
First and foremost, some housekeeping. Our Overwatch 2 tier list isn't divided up into specific roles, but each bracket has a hero for each role represented. S tier heroes are at the pinnacle of the game's meta and do not require specific team comps or strategies to dominate with. A tier picks aren't necessarily worse than S tier counterparts, but they're generally more difficult to use and maximise. The B, C, and D tiers follow suit, representing the roster's lower echelons in Overwatch 2.
Of course, just because we say a hero is a must-pick doesn't mean you can't do a better job with your preferred main character, but most players should be able to use this tier list as a quick reference for who to play and why. Overwatch 2 Season 3 Mythic Skins
As with previous seasons, the Overwatch 2 battle pass will be refreshed with new skins, emotes, and voice lines galore as part of the release of Overwatch 2 season 3. Kiriko was featured prominently in the official season 3 trailer, so it's no surprise that a new mythic skin for the damage-dealing support hero has already been confirmed. The Amaterasu Kiriko mythic skin can be seen in action on Twitter as well as in the hero gallery.
We've also received confirmation that the rumoured Cupid Hanzo legendary skin will be released on Valentine's Day, so start saving up your currency now.
Overwatch 2 Season 3 Workshop
Long-time Overwatch custom game mode fans will be pleased to learn that the Workshop is making a triumphant return in Overwatch 2 season 3. In an interview with Overwatch 2 content creator SVB, commercial lead and VP Jon Spector, along with executive producer Jared Neuss, confirmed this.
In Overwatch 1, the Workshop was a popular tool that allowed players to create their own custom game modes and scripts and share them with other players via Workshop codes. This new version of the Workshop includes a suite of moderation and reporting tools in an effort to keep the community surrounding these unique and popular scripting tools alive and well in the sequel.
Overwatch 2 Season 3 Map
With no new heroes arriving this season, we should focus on the upcoming Overwatch 2 map, which will serve as the centrepiece of Overwatch 2 season 3's content. The Antarctic Peninsula, which features glittering ice caves, free-roaming penguins, and an icebreaker ship, is the newest control map added to the roster. While we don't yet know the full map structure of the Antarctic Peninsula, including choke points and objective areas, PCGamesN's interview with level designer Trey Spisak sheds some light on how matches will play out.
