As you progress through Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, there are two default areas you will need to visit, with a third being optional depending on an earlier choice you made. The decision you make is crucial, as leaving the first area will trigger Deskari’s locust horde to attack, potentially causing NPC deaths or destruction of buildings, hindering your progress. For instance, if you choose to rescue Crusaders in the Sword of Valor area, Deskari's minions will attack the Temple, leaving it in ruins and possibly killing Galfrey. Choosing to go to the other area instead will result in the deaths of Crusader NPCs such as Ciar.
If you gave Queen Galfrey the Lexicon of Paradox in the Midnight Fane dungeon in Act 3, she will return it to you, but only if you follow one of the "good/neutral" Mythic Paths. Irabeth will also be with her if you bolstered her confidence throughout the game. The Temple basement holds the Glass Key behind a fake wall and the Key Crystal on an altar in the circular chamber, both necessary for accessing Areelu’s Laboratory and the Ascension secret ending. Triggering the Anemora encounter by entering the circular area can allow you to save Queen Galfrey, but it's also possible to use Dimension Door to grab the Key Crystal without triggering the encounter.
Choosing to save the Crusaders will result in Galfrey's death when you return unless you chose the Aeon path. During discussions with Galfrey, it's possible to kill and revive her as undead on the Lich path or recruit her on the Angel path, assuming you successfully romance her and keep Irabeth alive.
Sword of Valor
In the game Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, players have the option to protect their banner from demons while battling to progress in the game. However, it is not a priority since the banner can be recovered in time for the Threshold finale. Choosing this option over the Temple of Stone Manuscripts can have some consequences. For instance, Irabeth will die if she is with Galfrey, hindering the completion of the Galfrey romance/recruitment. If Irabeth isn't with her or if the player uses Dimension Door to grab items from the temple's basement, Galfrey will die, and the temple will be destroyed, making it impossible to get the Glass Key and Key Crystal. Fortunately, players can choose another option to save Galfrey by heading straight to the Temple without destroying the banner. This option is related to the Feud of the Faithful quest from Act 1, and if players sided with Hulrun, he will show up and sacrifice himself to save Galfrey.
Terendelev
In case you didn't give Galfrey the Lexicon of Paradox in Act 3, you will find her along with Irabeth at this location. However, it's not advisable to prioritize this area since it would lead to the destruction of the Temple and your banner being captured. Instead, you can opt to head straight to the Temple and retrieve the Glass Key. You can then use Dimension Door to acquire the Key Crystal without triggering the Anemora fight. This way, you can obtain the two essential items before proceeding to Terendelev's arena.
Midnight Bolt and Radiance Upgrade
Located near the Crusader's camp, the Midnight Bolt can be obtained by exploring a ruined manor and battling mobs along the way. After making your way to the second floor, you'll be able to collect the Midnight Bolt. While this is not the only location for the Midnight Bolt in the game, there are other areas to find it as well. As for Radiance, if you were able to acquire its previous upgrades throughout the campaign and still have it in your inventory, it will shine brightly as you near Deskari's arena. Upon reaching the arena, Radiance will transform into its +6 variant, unlocking its full potential.
Deskari
It's recommended to leave Deskari for last, as defeating him will affect the pathways in the dungeon. During the encounter, focus on two important things: obtaining the Nahyndrian Crystal by shooting Deskari with a Midnight Bolt, and making sure you can defeat Deskari quickly. If Deskari falls down the chasm after being hit with energy, you know you've done it right. This defeat is essential if you're aiming for the Ascension secret ending in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous.
