In the previous episode of Platonic, Will decided to end his relationship with Peyton, although the breakup affected him more than it did her. Meanwhile, Will had a heated argument with his best friend Sylvia, as he believed they had a deep connection that was not reciprocated. Moving on to Sylvia's first day as an associate at her new job, it got off to a rocky start when her son Simon accidentally spilled milk on her new suit. Later, during her busy day, she accidentally damaged a portrait of Kirk Friedkin, the company's owner. Additionally, Katie, who was dating Andy, had not informed Sylvia about their relationship, possibly indicating a shift in their friendship dynamics due to Sylvia's new lifestyle.
