Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet are video games released in 2022 for the Nintendo Switch. They were made by Game Freak and published by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company. These games are the start of the ninth generation of Pokémon games. They were announced in February 2022 and came out on November 18, 2022.
Unlike earlier Pokémon games, Scarlet and Violet are set in a big open world. The games happen in the Paldea region, which is inspired by the Iberian Peninsula. There are three different stories you can play in these games. They also introduce 110 new Pokémon, two new regional forms, and special creatures called Paradox Pokémon.
There's a special phenomenon called Terastal, which lets a Pokémon change into its exclusive "Tera Type." The games have features like large open areas and Pokémon you can see in the game world.

The worldwide release date for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet was November 18, 2022. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Gameplay
In Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, the gameplay is similar to previous Pokémon games. Players catch and trade creatures called Pokémon, then use them to explore the world and battle other Pokémon trainers. But there's a new feature where you can choose to battle trainers you meet on paths.
These games have open worlds, which means there are no borders between cities and the wilderness. Unlike older Pokémon games, you can choose your own path and do things in any order.
There are 110 new Pokémon in Scarlet and Violet, including three starter Pokémon: Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly, and two legendary Pokémon: Koraidon and Miraidon. You can use Koraidon or Miraidon to help you travel. There are also new regional forms, Paradox Pokémon, and something called "convergent evolution" Pokémon, which look like other Pokémon but are different.
You can send a Pokémon out to explore the world and battle other Pokémon using a feature called "Let's Go," and you can play with friends in co-op mode. The games introduce the Terastal phenomenon, which changes a Pokémon's appearance and type, giving them special moves like Tera Blast.
